Meta Tags are very important for a blog to rank high in the search ngines . Meta Tags just give more information to the search engine as well as the searchers about our post . A seperate Meta description shows off your SEO expertise and it improves the ranking in search result . If the meta description is somehow related to the search term then your post will rank high than th others. There is a rumour that Wordpress is better than Blogger in SEO . So,we should change the rumour . We should properly optimize our site with META tags and there are many other ways to optimize your site ! You should also add proper title tags as well as meta tags together to get the majority of the optimization . And you should also apply basic SEO strategies ! Just write the unique content and properly optimize your website an you will surely get success, not from the first day onwards , but slowly and gradually you will get success ! The meta description will be seen as the description in the search files . Adding this tag for each post makes your blog more search engine friendly and you can get a lot of organic traffic from the search engines ! But before adding it to all posts , first you will have to enable the meta description from the Settings page .

How To Enable Meta Descripton For your Blog

  • Go To Blogger - Settings - Search Preferences 
  • Click Yes , On the Enable Search Description
  • Type in the description about your blog there !
  • Now Click on save .
  • Now you have successfully enabled Search Description For your Blog !
  • If you couldn't understan, Check Out This Image !
  • Wait, Don't go , we have only enabled search description for our blog . 
  • Now, we have to add it to all you posts !

  • Go To Blogger - Template - Edit HTML
  • Search For </head>
  • Paste This code , just before the </head> tag .
  • Now , You have successfully enabled seperate meta description for each post !

How To Add Meta Description In Blog Post 

  • Go To Blogger - New Post
  • Write The Content
  • In the right sidebar, you can see a new option named Search Description
  • Write the dscription of your post and click on Done
  • Check the image below for better understanding

We always spend a lot of time in writing posts . But ,if we could spend some more time in adding the search description and optimizing the images , then we could get a lot better ranking than we had . So , a little time can make your blog post go viral . Happ Blogging !

    I'm glad to know that this article is helping you and it seems like the template developer needs to learn little more about "Blogger Template" designing. Meta Description for the whole blog works but when i add descriptions to a post the link also appears in the full article.

    You have to ADD META TAGS MANUALLY TO EACH POST when your are using blogger CMS.
    Better switch to wordpress as there are so many plugins which makes this task simple and easy.
